Vanesa Young started her music education in her home town La Paz, Bolivia in a private school called “Colegio Boliviano Israelita”. She further her music studies at the National Conservatory of Music in 1995 where she participated in Chamber Music, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and solo work spanning almost ten years. During this time she attended many master classes with European and American clarinetists.
Additionally, she was invited to participate in a concert as a third clarinet in the National Symphony Orchestra of Bolivia.
In 2005, she immigrated to the US to further her musical training at BYU-Hawaii where she participated in Chamber Music and collaborated in a music composition class. Later on, she transferred to BYU in Provo, UT where she participated in Chamber Music and Symphonic Band, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2012 with an emphasis on clarinet.
